Jim is responsible for the Foundation, the operation of the North
Carolina Hospital Center facility and its library, production and
distribution services, the patient data program with Thomson, and data analysis for advocacy
and member services. Jim served on the board of directors and executive committee of the Association Executives of North Carolina. Prior to joining
NCHA in 1983, Jim was assistant regional director of Region 2 of the
American Hospital Association. He also was manager of the National
Hospital Panel Survey Department at AHA. Jim has an M.A. in sociology
from the University of Illinois, Chicago, a B.A. in liberal arts and
sciences from DePaul University in Chicago, and has completed the
six-week Institute for Organization Management at the University of
Delaware in Newark. He also is a Certified Association Executive of
the American Society of Association Executives.
