BCBSNC Donates $500,000 to NC Medical Society Foundation

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina has given $500,000 to the NC Medical Society Foundation’s disaster relief program to help offset costs from Hurricane Florence. The NCMS Foundation’s disaster relief program is meant to reestablish medical care to affected areas after such events. “The damage left behind by Hurricane Florence has impacted practices across our state, particularly in the southeast,” said Dr. Patrick Conway, president and CEO of BCBSNC. “This donation is about doing our part to help make sure doctors can reopen their doors as soon as possible, and people can get the care they need.” The money will be used for replacing equipment, aiding essential medical practice staff, rebuilding patient records, replacing telephone systems, signs, and providing medical laboratory supplies.
