The NC General Assembly is still in session, awaiting action from Governor Cooper. So far, they have passed Voter ID legislation, a hurricane relief bill, technical corrections, and other local bills. The General Assembly did not take up anything on the State Health Plan. However, NCHA believes we are in a good position for the upcoming Long Session to have further discussions on preventing the proposed pricing model for the State Health Plan. Meanwhile, the House Republicans and House Democrats had their caucus elections. Rep. Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) was unanimously selected Speaker again by his caucus and will be voted on by the entire House early next year. Rep. Darren Jackson (D-Wake) was chosen by the Democrat caucus to continue to serve as the House Minority Leader. Next week, the General Assembly is expected to wrap up and adjourn until January of 2019.
