The State Attorney General Josh Stein recently announced he will allow HCA Healthcare’s purchase of Mission Health to go through without a legal challenge. Mission Health said it expects the deal will close Jan. 31 and its facilities will be part of HCA on Feb. 1.
Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina, the state’s largest insurer with more than 3.89 million members, recently unveiled a new value-based model of care program, called Blue Premier. The program is a partnership with five of North Carolina’s largest provider networks: Cone Health, Duke Health, UNC Health Care, Wake Forest Baptist Health and WakeMed Health and Hospitals. Within five years, Blue Cross NC has committed to having all customers covered under Blue Premier’s value-based care contracts.
Erlanger Murphy Medical Center recently announced its new name — Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital. The Murphy hospital joined the Tennessee-based Erlanger Health Systems last spring.
