2019 County Health Rankings Highlight Housing Costs Impact on Health

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s annual County Health Rankings are now live. The 2019 Key Findings Report highlights the link between housing and health across the nation. More than 1 in 10 households (11%) spend more than half of their income on housing costs (severe housing cost burden). As housing costs have outpaced local incomes, many families not only struggle to acquire and maintain adequate shelter, but also face difficult trade-offs in meeting other basic needs. Click here to learn how housing is impacting health in North Carolina, where 14% of households spend more than half of their income on housing costs. There is a webinar on April 23for guidance and insights into how you can explore your data and move towards action.
