This month, the NCHA’s Board of Trustees approved three new membership applications, including the first applicants for NCHA’s new membership categories — Associate and Affiliate. More information about membership types may be found on NCHA’s website here.

Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, is located in Winston-Salem and was approved as a traditional member.
- Surgical Care Associates, which is headquartered in Greensboro and has eight ambulatory surgery centers across North Carolina, was approved as NCHA’s first associate member. Associate members are those who provide direct patient care, but do not have a hospital as part of their organization.
- Capstone Health Alliance, a shared services organization based out of Fletcher, NC, was approved as NCHA’s first Affiliate member. Affiliate members are those who are in the healthcare industry but do not provide direct patient care.
