HHS Extends Deadline for Comments on Health IT Rules

The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and CMS have extended the deadline to comment on their proposed rules to promote electronic health information exchange. ONC and CMS both extended their deadline by 30 days to June 3. In addition, CMS said it plans to adjust the effective dates of the policies in its rule “to allow for adequate implementation timelines as appropriate.
