The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology released for comment through June 17 an updated draft Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement for the exchange of health information across networks. The updates are based on more than 200 comments received on the first draft framework. Qualified non-profit organizations can apply through June 17 for funding to serve as the entity that will coordinate the Common Agreement, the technical and legal requirements for qualified health information networks and their participants. ONC expects to award $900,000 in first-year funding to the selected entity.
