North Carolina Healthcare Association Endorses Chatterji for State Treasurer

Cary, NC – Sept. 24, 2020The North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) today is announcing an endorsement of Ronnie Chatterji for State Treasurer.

Ronnie Chatterji has the skills to manage our state’s finances and has a compelling vision of how the State Treasurer’s office can be used to achieve better healthcare for all North Carolinians, including the 720,000 state employees and retirees who are members of the State Health Plan,” said Steve Lawler, NCHA’s President and CEO. We believe he is the candidate that the NCHA and our members can best work with to achieve the highest quality, most accessible and most affordable healthcare for our state and to chart a course to make North Carolina’s healthcare system a model for the nation,he added

Ronnie understands healthcare and health policy. He is ready to work with the entire provider community to update the State Health Plan in ways that will deliver better health outcomes and more value for each dollar spent to covered members like teachers, troopers, retired government employees, and to the state as a whole,” he continued. As the public has seen throughout the pandemic, North Carolina’s healthcare providers are deeply devoted to their patients’ health and well-being and will not hesitate to speak up and advocate for what we believe is best for them and the communities we serve. We have also seen that the healthcare community, as well as other communities throughout the state, have struggled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. We need leaders who understand the economic impact on people and community and are willing to seek collaborative and effective solutions. That’s why we are endorsing Ronnie Chatterji. We believe that he shares the values of selflessness, commitment, inclusion, kindness, compassion, and caring that make our healthcare profession so special. It is apparent that Mr. Chatterji genuinely wants to collaborate with those who are charged with caring for all the people across our state to improve healthcare access and affordability while being a good steward of tax dollars.”
