TQC PSO Safe Table: Patient & Staff Violence

This educational activity is jointly provided by AXIS Medical Education and the North Carolina Healthcare Association

November 7 @ 9:45 am - 1:30 pm

COST: Free

TQC PSO Members Only

Have you experienced physical violence (hitting, biting, scratching) or verbal violence (insults, threats, cursing) from a patient? Chances are you have or you know someone who has. Such disruptive patient behaviors are increasingly common, and it is important for staff to report such experiences, and likewise, for staff to feel supported by their organization.

Target Audience

Attendance is restricted to TQC PSO member organizations. To enrich the conversation, we ask that physician and nurse leaders, pharmacists, safety officers, risk managers and other health care professionals affiliated with in-patient, out-patient, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities attend this Safe Table and come prepared to share. For the most robust discussions, we strive to include a minimum of 10 participants representing at least 3 different organizations.

Learning Objectives

The goal is to learn from each other, share best practices, and implement improvements within our organizations to prevent future patient harm. Safe Table discussions take place within the TQC Patient Safety Evaluation System.
