Programs & Resources

The North Carolina Healthcare Foundation fosters collaboration between health systems and other organizations to improve healthcare delivery and community health outcomes. Here are our current initiatives:

Access to Health

Improving access to better health through community-based networks of care and programs addressing chronic health issues.

Behavioral Health

NCHF supports initiatives to identify, standardize and disseminate evidence-driven behavioral health practice reforms.

Rural Health

NCHF supports North Carolina’s small rural hospitals, including 20 critical access hospitals (CAHs), through innovative programming and technical assistance geared toward patient safety, quality improvement, and population health

Health Equity

NCHF offers programing to address health inequities and to  build a pipeline of diverse healthcare leaders who reflect the North Carolina communities they serve.

Quality & Safety

NCHF offers opportunities to improve the quality and safety at North Carolina hospitals and health systems.

Disaster Relief

NCHF raises funds and administers a variety grants and relief programs to respond when a disaster strikes — from helping hospital employees impacted by natural disasters to deploying resources to organizations on the frontlines of a pandemic to address emerging, acute, and long-term needs.

CaroNova is a strategic initiative of the NCHF, in partnership with the South Carolina Hospital Association and The Duke Endowment, to advance systems change in healthcare design and delivery across the Carolinas.
