The North Carolina Healthcare Foundation fosters collaboration between health systems and other organizations to improve healthcare delivery and community health outcomes. Here are our current initiatives:

Access to Health
Improving access to better health through community-based networks of care and programs addressing chronic health issues.

Behavioral Health
NCHF supports initiatives to identify, standardize and disseminate evidence-driven behavioral health practice reforms.

Rural Health
NCHF supports North Carolina’s small rural hospitals, including 20 critical access hospitals (CAHs), through innovative programming and technical assistance geared toward patient safety, quality improvement, and population health.

Health Equity
NCHF offers programing to address health inequities and to build a pipeline of diverse healthcare leaders who reflect the North Carolina communities they serve.

Quality & Safety
NCHF offers opportunities to improve the quality and safety at North Carolina hospitals and health systems.

Disaster Relief
NCHF raises funds and administers a variety grants and relief programs to respond when a disaster strikes — from helping hospital employees impacted by natural disasters to deploying resources to organizations on the frontlines of a pandemic to address emerging, acute, and long-term needs.

CaroNova
CaroNova is a strategic initiative of the NCHF, in partnership with the South Carolina Hospital Association and The Duke Endowment, to advance systems change in healthcare design and delivery across the Carolinas.
