Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)

A type of staph infection that is resistant to certain antibiotics including methicillin and other more common antibiotics such as oxacillin, penicillin and amoxicillin. MRSA is a hospital- and
community-acquired infection that is usually manifested as a skin infection, looking like a pimple or boil, and can occur in otherwise healthy people.
