NCHA Expands “I Do Care” Campaign to Connect Adults with Health Care Careers

Raleigh, NC – The North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) is expanding its statewide workforce campaign, I Do Care,” to connect adults across North Carolina with meaningful and sustainable career opportunities in health care.

Launched in 2024 to encourage middle and high school students to explore healthcare careers, the campaign now includes a strong focus on adults — those starting college or in their first semester, considering a career change, transitioning from military service, or seeking a career that can grow and move with their family.

Hospitals and health systems across North Carolina employ more than 268,000 people, ranking among the top 10 largest employers in 92 of the state’s 100 counties. With hospitals rooted in communities large and small, healthcare careers offer stability, flexibility, and opportunities close to home — no matter where someone lives in the state.

“Hospitals are anchors in communities across North Carolina, and that gives people access to real career opportunities close to home and beyond,” said Josh Dobson, President and CEO of the North Carolina Healthcare Association. “Through this campaign, we’re helping adults see clear pathways into health care and the long-term potential these careers provide.”

The expanded campaign includes a statewide paid social media effort to raise awareness of healthcare careers and connect adults to the “I Do Care” website at https://future.idocarenc.org/. The site showcases the many clinical and non-clinical career opportunities available in hospitals and provides information on how to begin or transition into a healthcare career.

Healthcare careers offer more than employment — they provide a path to a stable, fulfilling future while making a meaningful difference for individuals and families during some of life’s most critical moments.
