Advancing Access: Housing as a Driver of Health

Hospital members and community partners consistently identify stable, affordable housing as essential to improving health outcomes. Through this initiative, supported by Wells Fargo, NCHF is exploring how to address housing as a critical barrier to healthcare access and a key social driver of health. Through a series of statewide convenings held throughout the year, NCHF is engaging hospitals, community leaders, policymakers, and other partners in structured dialogue on access to care, centering housing as a critical theme. These convenings provide a platform to share perspectives, identify challenges, and develop actionable strategies that strengthen community health and well-being. At the end of 2026, NCHF will synthesize insights into a comprehensive report capturing lessons learned, promising practices, and opportunities for future collaboration that will serve as both a guide for action and a catalyst for continued investment in housing as a driver of health.
